Spider is one of many versions of solitaire games. The main objective of the game is to arrange a suit sequence descending from king to ace with the king on top of the pile. In other words, this game requires you to assemble the 13 cards of a suit.
Spider solitaire consists of 2 packs of cards. Therefore, the total cards you will have in a game is 104. As there are 4 suits in a standard pack, thus you will have to assemble 8 suits to win and end this game. The ‘spider’ name labeled to the game is based on these numbers of suits.
When you first open this game, you will be given 10 piles of cards consisting of 5 cards in each pile. Four cards in each pile are set to face down, while the top cards are opened and face up. These face-up cards can be moved along with all face-up cards below it in the ascending sequence and suit.
You may break down the sequence of the face up cards. For instance, you have a pile of cards consists of 3,4,5, and 6. You may move merely the cards from 5 to 3 as a unit to other piles if needed. However, you cannot move 6 without removing 3,4, and 5. If you wish to remove all the face-up cards from 6 to 3, the face-down card will be opened automatically and become available to use.
The movable cards can be put on the available space or the higher rank of cards from the bottom unit in spite of different suit or color. For instance, if you have a unit of cards with J as the bottom card, then you can move the unit to any queens. Somehow, the king can only be moved to the available space.
If there is no more possibility to move, you can deal with another row of ten face-up cards. To do this, however, you have to fill all available spaces. To avoid the game to block quickly, try to assemble cards in the same suit if possible.
Spider solitaire has varied difficulties starting from easy to hard. The higher the level you play, the more points you can earn in the game. On an easy level, the cards are all in spades. On a medium level, two suits (spades and hearts) are played. Meanwhile, the hardest level, four suits from two decks of cards are involved in the game.
You may forget about the time while playing this game. As there is a clear goal in this game, anyone can easily join the excitement. However, to find the best challenge in spider solitaire, you must go to its hardest level.
